The Ningbo Opera Company, the only state-owned professional theater troupe in Ningbo, has achieved remarkable success. Its debut production "The Great River Flows East" received funding from the National Industrial Fund and won the New Play Award at the 13th Zhejiang Provincial Drama Festival. The play "Guardian", later renamed "Zhang Renya", earned the "Five Ones" Project Award in Ningbo. Additionally, the drama "Ningbo Merchants 1938" was supported by the National Art Fund's Stage Creation Special Program.
